Rammstein - Du Hast Song MeaningsLyrics:Du Du hast Du hast mich Du hast mich Du hast mich Gefragt Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt W... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: linkinpark4eva Added: 2005-11-19 01:04:01   Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() The song title literally means 'You Have', not 'You Hate' as some people think. It's about a girl claiming possession over Till (the lead singer)

Submitted by: jusplainjesse A very clever play on words, indeed. Americans never understand this song. I'm glad I took German in school.
Submitted by: prongs666 You're an idiot, Linkin Park person. I've taken German since I was little and yes it does mean "you hate," so you need to shut your mouth.
Submitted by: anonymous prongs666 Du Hast = You Have, Du Hasst = You Hate, The song is a play on wedding vows.
Submitted by: anonymous From what I've heard it was about how a girl will never get in the way fo true friendship.
Submitted by: anonymous This is a play on German wedding vows as well as a pun wit Du Hast/Du Hasst (you have, you hate) grefagt is a word we don't have in english but it's like 'so much' or 'extremly'. Throughout the song we see the wedding vows come into play. There's a little catch in here.
Submitted by: wardo You are all missing the obvious. Listen to the CD. On the English version, he sings "You hate." So, regardless of the spelling, they clearly want the audience (at least the English speaking audience) to understand it as "you hate."
Submitted by: prongs666 What the fuck ever, not where I'm from.
Submitted by: wardo What are you talking about? Where you're from what? Listen to the CD. Watch the video. It was ALL OVER MTV for a couple of months and they still play it on the MTV stations that actually play videos.
Submitted by: anonymous It means "you have," fuckin linkin park asshole.....DU HAST you have
Submitted by: anonymous Linkin Park lover is a fuck face. It means !!YOU HATE!! YOU HATE! AGHHH! He doesn't want to be faithful until death takes her. Ze German ich niench du faynck !Frezhimgh! None of you fuckheads should talk unless you ARE GERMAN!
Submitted by: strogoff Now, i`m German, and the meaning of "Du hast" is "you have".
Submitted by: wardo I can see your point about the need for change based on the language. Although I'm dissapointed if that is the case since Engel's English lyrics seem very close to the German while maintain the beautiful flow of the original language.
Submitted by: anonymous Sorry wardo person... I put that one post before I saw yours... I wasn't saying it to you.
Submitted by: anonymous ok enough fighting about it you jackass's, it's you have..end of story.. move on... get a life?
Submitted by: anonymous I don't know what the problem is... It could mean both. Rammstein`s well known for their wordplays (at least here in germany)...
Submitted by: anonymous Oi mich...Das ist nicht gut...You are arguing over Du Hast...Please look at the spelling h..a..s..t. This spelling of the word in Deutsche means the word 'have'. In English is it translated to 'hate'. Yes I know they are not the same. This song could not be translated with the same essence of rhythm if you used the word 'have'. Ich ist fehrtig. And just for credibility..I komme aus Frankfurt am Der Oder.
Submitted by: Lovefire... Funny shit...
Submitted by: anonymous .........this is sad.
