Lyrics:
I'm in conniptions for the final act you came here for
The one derivative you manage is the one I abhor
I need a minute to elaborate for every...

This song is about someone trying to be someone they're not just for the way it looks or the way people will think of them. Corey Taylor, the band's vocalist, believes that people should be themselves and considers people that trying to be like him or somebody else his "Plague." The song says that if you try to be somebody else your disrespecting them and hating your true self.

I think there are some indications of self injury.
"I'm turning it around like a knife in the shell
I wanna understand why, but I'M HURTING MYSELF
I haven't seen a lotta reasons to stop it
I can't just drop it
I'm just a bastard, but at least I admit it
At least I admit it," maybe that's why he says afterwards "I know why you blame me". He knows he has problems with himself but I guess he never meant for anyone to "copy" him just to be "cool," if you're following my line of thought. He doesn't want people to blame him for becoming fucked up and having issues with themselves just because they listen to his music... it's like people trying to say Slipknot is responsible for kids being violent.

Anyway, I just thought it might be about SI, since there are a lot of other songs by them which also imply this... see also "Everything Ends"

Corey is pissed that his fans are trying to be like him and he wants them to stop.

Although all the sites say different, the way I interpreted it from just listening to it first hand was pretty much talking about bullying. Stuff like "I don't mind being ogled ridiculed made to feel minuscule, if you consider the source, its kinda pitiful" which is an excellent explanation of bullying, and stuff like "I know why you blame me, I know why you blame yourself" was to me saying that the reason they bully is because of problems they have with themselves.
Of course I agree with the other interpretations, but this is what I initially thought from the song

What the ?!?!?! People?

This song is about posers. That's a fact. Drag yourself to www.Black-goat.Com and check it out.
Corey was sick of posers, even though he helped them.
Nobody was talented in slipknot, save chris fehn and joey jordinson (not actually his real name).
Pity joey is emo scum.

P.S: corey sucks. His screams are digitally enhanced.

Corey basically has a plague which is the people trying to be like him. In other words just be your self and have self respect. Also that is what the coolest thing is, not to give a shit who you are as long as you love and respect yourself.
Popular people love you for what you are, not who you are.

P.S: Corey probably has incredibly strong vocal cords and does not suck. He puts the risk of snapping his vocal cords and never being able to speak again for the rest of his life just for our entertainment. So cheer for him, respect him and give him what he deserves.

Also it is best to stand out.
Just be yourself - the basic meaning.

OKAY, YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT COREY SUCKS?
Go listen to 9.0...
He does not sound that different minus the fact that its live so it is going to sound different.
When you're recording in a studio, you record parts of the song at a time, and they do digitally enhance some parts because some tings might lose power after a while.
As for the song, I agree with all of your interpretations.
But I really absolutely agree with the bullying one.
It makes perfect sense to me.

yes I do agree with all the above interpretations, but the fact that corey's screams are digitally enhanced is bullshit, listen to them live, they sound almost the same as on the CD. Everything in studio is enhanced to make it have a cleaner sound, you must be retarded to think that they're enhanced just becuase corey can't scream... He can
