Eyeless is about the most stupid thing. They couldn't think of anyother songs so they went to New York To Finish There Album and on the street he (Corey) heard a bum screaming " You Can't See California Without Marlin Brondos' Eyes!" he thought it was so funny that he brought it up and turned it into a song.

I love this song with the passion. Yea your right about the guy screaming you can't see california without Marlon Brando eyes, it was a schizophrenic and decided to put it in the song, I think its awesome, but they have better songs tho

Ok. This is just something I heard from someone. You know "hearsay". But this song is mainly about his father. His father abandoned him ( I am my father's son, but he's a phantom, a mistery and that leaves me nothing. Many times have you wanted to die. Its too late for me, all you want to do is get rid of me.) and he shows his anger towards his father for leaving him right in the middle of growing up as a teenager. And he doesn't understand why his fater (who is portayed as Marlon Brando) left him. He can't see what his father felt. Thats why he sings "You can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes". I can't see the way that my father saw things....
Well see what you think

This song is about Corey never knowing his father. "you can't see california without marland brandos eyes" came from so bum running down the street screaming out marland brando. The subconscience line was taken from a techno song. The song is saying 'don't try to see things that aren't there'.

The homeless guy is right. (the bum screaming out, "you can't see California without Marlon Brandon's eyes!")

Yes, it also reflects on Corey Taylor's father. Corey has the Japanese symbol for father as a tattoo.

There are a few interpretations of the song Eyeless. When Slipknot came to New York for the first time, which was when they signed on the dotted line with Roadrunner, they ran into a schizophrenic man who was running around yelling the phrase "You can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes!" That was the main inspiration for the song.
Eyeless is also about Corey's father, as seen in the phrase "I am my father's son, cause he's a phantom, a mystery, and that leaves me NOTHING!"

The song is about Corey's hatred towards his father for leaving his family. (He has recently reunited with his father)

This song is basically one big rant from Corey to his father, who he never knew. He's voicing all the emotions he felt during his childhood that he had never been able to voice before.

I read somewhere that he felt the absence of his father gave him no identity and he spent his younger years feeling really hurt and angry about not knowing who he was. "You can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes" was a line he heard a schizophrenic shouting. I think that this applied to how he felt about being no one, that he needed to know who he was before he could truly understand his life. The lyrics don't need much explaining really, just have a read with that in mind and you'll get the picture. One thing I think when I read them - he must have been one angry guy.
