Slipknot - Vermilion Pt. 2 Song MeaningsLyrics:She seemed dressed in all of me Stretched across my shame All the torment and the pain Leaked through and covered me I'd do anything t... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: prongs666 Added: 2005-11-30 12:20:06   Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The vocalist is obsessed with someone but he can't seem to get this person because she either doesn't exist or is too perfect for him, and only him.
Submitted by: anonymous Your close to Being Right, the girl isn't real it was a dream that he had about the girl and he desperately wanted her. "She isn't real" supports this. "But I won't let this build up inside of me." is another thing that helped this theory.
Submitted by: prongs666 Some people say someone isn't real because they are too perfect...besides, Corey wrote this song for his wife, Scarlet, hence the song gets the name Vermilion... btw... The Slipknot website said exactly what I wrote.
Submitted by: anonymous He is trying to put up a perfect facade for this girl. He changes or acts different when he dosen't really mean to when she comes around. I think he is feeling bad about trying to make this person seem so perfect when really she is far from it. I think because he hates how people treat him and that's why he tryed to make her flawless less human as possible but in the end he sees she is opnly human and no ones perfect and to try to make someone perfect is just only dragging yourself down. So he is willing to accept the flaws and he won't let it bother him much anymore.
Submitted by: prongs666 There is no story line behind this song. Corey is a really open person and he has told interviewers that this song is about his wife... not some bitch that he is trying to impress...
Submitted by: sicslipknotxx This song is a take off of the first which is all about a stalker and a girl that's being stalked. Go to the slipknot website metabolic666.com. I'm the biggest maggot ever.
Submitted by: domenic The guy above me rocks a bit!
Submitted by: prongs666 yaa but corey still said that it was written for his wife...just like many other song on the album...stocker or not...
Submitted by: anonymous Ok, this is a bit of a leftfield idea, so perhaps is just an example of finding something if you look hard enough.
Submitted by: prongs666 I don't get the flower idea...Just watch the music video...
Submitted by: anonymous Six years ago, shawn crahan [clown]'s wife past away.
Submitted by: anonymous I get the point but I still can't figure out what the hell the video clip means...Any ideas? What's with the flying dead woman?
Submitted by: anonymous This song was written about my (female)cat! One day I woke up, and she was nowhere to be found, yet my door was locked and shut! No windows were open as far as the eye can see. The cat that kept me company for so many years was not real! Yet, I won't let that built up inside of me. I can't make her real~! Corey said so himself!
Submitted by: anonymous And I always thought it was about true freedom... How people want it, but they realize that it's unattainable in our world.
Submitted by: anonymous My interpretation is that the song doesn't have anything to do with a girl or any form of wanting or needing. Just like the first one but a more calm paced sound. Vermilion pt.2 I believe is a song not based on a girl that is not his but a woman who is in a extreme case of being out of sync with her world.the woman is not a woman but vermilion (painting something a violent red) witch is a word describing change in who someone is which like I said is out of sync with what everybody else is doing. The album subliminal versus it self was aiming to describe the change in their music. They evolved (or stepped down) to instead of a hype inverted saint sound anti god and the heavens (heretic anthem, my plague, wait and bleed) from verbally violent and vived to more about their lives. The entire album was based on that change (all but the nameless) perlude nearly shouted it out. So what I am getting at is vermilion pt.2 along with pt.1 is a song about a female going through the same thing. She doesn't exist to the people around her but he knows she is there "she is dressed in all of me". even in the video the woman moving slow while everyone else zooms by. The woman being slipknots music (the new slipknot) everyone else being the rock industry.
Submitted by: Harky093 I don't know what you guys are thinking but the only person on the ball is Prongs666
Submitted by: anonymous Vermilion is fading from dark red to reddish orange.
Submitted by: anonymous I think it's disillusion since scarlet is dark red, vermilion being dark red fading to reddish orange. He had this image of Scarlet and with time, he found out that that perfect image of scarlet isn't real (through discussions and fights and as he keeps knowing her more, he keeps finding more imperfections) he can't make her real, cause that perfect image is gone and doesn't exist. So the relationship went from Scarlet (the dark red) to Vermilion(dark red to reddish orange). That's MY theory. I don't know if I'm right. but that could be the right one
Submitted by: blahblahblahblahblah I think these songs are about a murder. This is just my opinion though I dunno if it's right or wrong. Part one is about the act while part 2 is about the after math it does make sense if you think about it.
Submitted by: anonymous Think real hard...."she seems dressed in all of me...." "seeps through and covers me"...."she isn't real-I can't make her real"
