Submitted by: anonymous 'So deep that it didn't even bleed' is about mental hurt rather than physical hurt. More often that not when someone says something or does something (not injuring), it will hurt more than when someone kicks you.
Submitted by: cherryxbliss I've always thought that it was about someone who was emotionally hurt by something (aren't I specific), and was left alone. Their loneliness was the only thing they had left.

Submitted by: anonymous I think it's about his denial about pain. He is emotionally hurt by losing someone and he can just pretend that he's ok...he thinks that he can make it. The pain is all that he's got so he just goes on pretending he is ok when in reality he is deeply scarred by the loss.

I guess he was way close to his dog because he say's "I'll be just fine; pretending I'm not...I'm far from lonely and it's all that I've got." he's saying that he now feel's lonely.. duh.. "asleep I still see you lying next 2 me.." this line make's ppl think that he's talking about a girl but he's not... He's still talking about his dog...

It truley is about his dog dying, (he even said so on the taste of chaos in aus interview) BUT also it is just generally about losing a loved one, and how the emotional pain turns to physical, its not ABOUT his dog dying, but a dedication to his dog, it was the insperation, also this song is about dinial after relationships end, "i'll be just fine pretending I'm not" and also it is a stand for whats really "emo" and whats thought to be of the "emo" movement just because it can be soft.... but with all that, the song still probably has more meaning and insperation to it... There's still more than meets the eye;)

Submitted by: anonymous Well..The other day I was reading about the meaning of this song...And what I read is that bert wrote this song because his chihuahua dog died...And he loved him very much...So its not about any girl...The point is that its a very very very good song...

What it really means is up to everyone's individual life. It could be a girl.. It could be a dog.. It could be a dream... Or something.
