Beatles - Happiness is a Warm Gun Song MeaningsLyrics:She's not a girl who misses much Do do do do do do- oh yea! She's well acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand Like a lizard on a win... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: Lamarcus Added: 2005-12-24 00:12:28   Rating: ![]() ![]() This was written about the NRA, and based on a poster that one of the band members saw.
Submitted by: LennonLives It was on the cover of a gun magazine. It said "Happiness is warm Gun"
Submitted by: anonymous It's about masturbation.
Submitted by: anonymous This song is an ode to heroin:
Submitted by: spiniton To me, it's an obvious sexual innuendo written with gun symbolism, probably inspired by the NRA. Some of the coolest time signature changes ever to be recorded in a Beatles song. 4/4 to 6/8 to 7/8!
Submitted by: Anon It's about drugs: heroin and other halucinogens.
Submitted by: alex1 As someone said before John saw this in a magazine. but then he admitted in a press conference that this song had no meaning he just liked the meanings. So no NRA no maturbation no heroin just John proving his musical genius!
Submitted by: CroftD1 Other than the guy talking a bout the press conferance and it having no meaning and the other guy about where he said John saw the "Happiness is a warm gun" line you all are completely wrong and are on drugs yourselves. It is three separate pieces of music that John couldn't do any thing else with so he put them together. They have no meaning other than John thought they were cool lines. The music is very different in each piece for that reason. "She's is well aquainted with the touch of the velvet hand like a lizard on a windo pane" Is one of my all time favorite lines in a song!
Submitted by: anonymous John was a pacifist, and it was a statement about the American gun culture. Some lyrics allude to John's passion for Yoko Ono.
Submitted by: anonymous It's about sucide, you crackheads.
Submitted by: capitalist The "utter nonsense" interpretation is looking kind of tempting right about now. Very tempting. Someone please prove it wrong.
Submitted by: anonymous Allrighty, look folks, the song is about heroin. I mean hello I definetly thought it was obvious...
Submitted by: anonymous You guys are all wrong, it has nothing to do with sex and definitely nothing to do with Yoko Ono.
Submitted by: anonymous This particular song is about being able to interpret it in your own way, that's why it's so ambiguous, and that's what makes it good (like a lot of songs, especially by the Beatles).
Submitted by: anonymous i have always felt that almost every song by the beatles had more than one meaning. I think it is a mixture of poking fun at american gun culture and maybe about heroin as well.
Submitted by: nicki I don't know exactly what it's about but definitely not about heroin or lennon wanting to overdose and die.
Submitted by: anonymous The song's title was inspired by an NRA ad. The song's lyrics though are about sexual contact...
Submitted by: anonymous If it's about anything it's about a schitzo killing people who he/she thinks is going to kill him/her.
Submitted by: anonymous Okay, I'm gonna keep this simple. It is a sexual innuendo. At least that what I think. Whatever you want to think it is about is okay. cause that is what all songs are about. To find a way you can link yourself or something you know to it and finding what hidden meaning you think is in there. well I guess I lied about the keeping it simple thing
Submitted by: anonymous I believe this isn't about drugs or anything of that sort, just a love a song, one about how happiness can only last for so long until it is suddenly something not so happy, such as his first marriage.
