Blink 182 - First Date Song Meanings

He is scared of his very first date because he has no experience with ladies and fears he will screw things up. He enjoys the time while being nervous at the same time. Thus "Forever and ever, let’s make this last forever." which is repeated several times throughout the song.

I think this song is about a guy that is really afraid of messing up on his date, so he takes all posible precautions and wants more time so he can get more ready than he already is. The video is the coolest!

I thinks its sooo cool this song because this is what normally everyone would feel in their first date. You are scared of what she/he will think of you. And its true that you are around with a lot of people and you get kind of jealous and you just want to make them disappear and just stay with your date and in the night you want it to last FOREVER... This song is soo cool!!!

Whoa the second person who posted an interpretation on this song is a MORON!! What the hell? "the video is the coolest"! That person is just a teenage vegetable decaying in front of the television, and whatever appears to them as out of the ordinary is "the coolest". The slow decline of intelligence in today's youth is because of people like "anonymous", dreaming of Pete Wentz taking them away in shining armor. Face it: IT WON'T HAPPEN. First date cannot be interpreted by someone other than the band. It is impossible that it is that straightforward. The other people hit the nail on the head by being less descriptive, but the whole "precautions" thing just had me squirming in my chair. The song is most probably a metaphor about a first hockey game when you are nervous and uptight because it is your first game against all these people, and they will all judge you. The other interpretations left all these metaphors possible, but the second anonymous person just ruined the song and is an embarassment for all that blink-182 stood for.

You dudes! The band is being sarcastic!They make fun of sentimental simpletons who try to much not to screw up. They also make fun of the overall "first date cliche".
