Blink 182 - I Miss You Song MeaningsLyrics:(I miss you, miss you) Hello there, the angel from my nightmare, The shadow in the background of the morgue, The unsuspecting vict... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: who?pinkfloyd Added: 2005-07-09 22:00:08   Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() I just want to point out that the begining of this song is from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" when Jack is walking through the graveyard. "And we can live like jack and sally" (from "The Nightmare Before Christmas")
Submitted by: unwantedmf05 I know it's from a movie or something but to me it's about missin someoe very important to you like a girl or friend or a family member that died.
Submitted by: anonymous No, it doesn't necessarily mean they are dead. Obviously there is the longing for things to be different, whether they USED to be this way, or the wisher wants them to be, it's hard to tell. In the CD booklet it says something about it being based upon an ex-girlfriend of one of the band members.
Submitted by: cherryxbliss Last time I checked, the only line having anything to do with Nightmare Before Christmas was "We can live like Jack and Sally if we want" and Travis said that that line was for him and Shana in the CD booklet. The title pretty much explains it, it's about missing someone.
Submitted by: anonymous Yes indeedy, there is parts of the song that relate to The Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton along with parts of the video. The lines 'And we can live like jack and sally if we want, Where you can always find me and we'll have Halloween on Christmas.' are based around the movie and the video for I Miss You just has the same vibe as the movie(TNBC).
Submitted by: anonymous It's directed around Travis' wife, idiot, not Tom's.
Submitted by: anonymous The letter was written by, I think, Tom's or Mark's grandpa to his wife during the war and they thought it went well with the album. Has nothing to do with Tom's wife.
Submitted by: bit_up_nails What the hell!!?? Not even, asswipe, it has to do with Travis missing his wife.
Submitted by: anonymous Right interpretation about Mark's grandpa writing those letter to his gran during the war but wrong song, those were actually the inspiration to the spoken part at the end of 'Violence' its really sweet n thoughtful but the best song on 'Blink 182' has to be 'Heres Your Letter' amazing lyrics guys sucks you had 2 split xx.
Submitted by: anonymous I have said this in so many interpretation things, just check the booklet thing the lyrics are in when you buy the cds, it says everything
Submitted by: PaulJohnGeorgeRingo4 The words at the end of "violence" were words marks grandfather wrote to his wife during world war 2 I think. (says it in the booklet)...but it actually has to do with the song "stockholm syndrome" because the whole paranoia stuff.
Submitted by: anonymous Forget about who was the song dedicated to.. TOM.. TRAVIS wutever... The thing is that the song must be dedicated to a special person that they miss and that their voice is unforgetable maybe the part of the Nightmare Before Christmas has to do with the song they are just giving out an example of a happy couple. The part where they say "I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight.. I need somebody and always". I think that part is so sweet and true. We've all had these days where it may be 2:30 in the morning and you just can't sleep neither dream because you are still thinking of that person and you start thinking how much you need someone by your side to be with you and to care and love you.
Submitted by: anonymous The Jack and Sally line is referring to Travis and his wife for sure...Either way this is a really good song and sums up how you feel when you miss someone at wierd hours in the worst ways and you feel really depressed about...whether you screwed up or your just fighting this song really touches on missing someone...I personally think this song is about fixing a stpid fight and being away from that person...like on tour...and not being able to see them and fix the problem but they miss them more than they could explain in words. This song hit me the hardest late at nights when I had gotten out of a long reltaionship and couldnt sleep...Blink 182 has always had kick ass songs though I'm going to miss the old them in the worst ways haha.
Submitted by: bf25... I think the song is mostly about jsut missing someone oyu love whether they are alive or dead but the song with the letters from world war 2 was marks gradfather by the way and there at the beginning of the song stockholm syndrome
Submitted by: blink182chik Its about wanting sum1 so much but bein afraid to.Ths song is kewl.
Submitted by: abbas The song also says stuff like "to hear your voice of treason" which could mean that the girl cheated on him and he is pissed off at that but still wants her back
Submitted by: anonymous To me it sounds like the chorus of this song indicates mixed emotions towards someone. When delong sings "don't waste your time on me, you're already a voice inside my head" it's as if he's telling someone that it's too late, they're nothing more to him than a memory. Then hoppus follows with "I miss you...", as if contradicting the previous statement. It's like this person has been hurt badly by the one he loves, and wants to them to leave, but all that he can think about is how much he loves them. Other phrases in the song seem to indicate this as well: "the angel from my nightmare" (unless you interpret this as a direct reference to the nightmare before christmas). The "nightmare" mentioned is a pre-conceived situation this person has been fearing (ie: his loved one cheating on him, or maybe breaking up with him). And the "angel" obviously, is his loved one. The verses of the song sound mostly like symbolic reminiscings of an unrequitted lover. In anycase, that's just how I interpret the song.
Submitted by: anonymous I think you are fucking 100% right on this one..
Submitted by: anonymous I think this is a song about a a guy who is going out with a girl who is cheating on him. She broke up with him to be with another guy. He realizes how bad she is for him but that doesn't matter. When he says "dont waste your time on me your all ready the voice inside my head" I think he's talking about how the thought of her is haunting him, but she doesn't care. He wants her back and she doesn't want him.
Submitted by: dorianflawz This song may just be obvious by its song title. He misses someone dearly. And they shouldn't waste time on him since their voice is inside their head 24/7.
