Red Hot Chili Peppers - Aeroplane Song MeaningsLyrics:I like pleasure spiked with pain and music is my aeroplane, It's my aeroplane, Songbird sweet and sour Jane and music is my aeroplane, It'... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: g_neus Added: 2005-10-30 03:45:35   Rating: ![]() ![]() I have been told (although it is not substantiated officially by the band mebers) that this song focuses on aviation travel.
Submitted by: anonymous I read Kiedis's autobiography about two months ago, and I recall that he mentioned about this song and it's meaning. I could be wrong, and I usually am, but I think it had to do with a relationship he was in (or maybe it was another song)...well, whatever. I would interpret this song as a love for music type of message, and personifying music as this love. In the first verse, I could see it as a way of him telling his love one about him falling into pieces (maybe a reference to Kiedis's drug problem at the time) and how he wants her to "slap him" out of it.
Submitted by: anonymous The chorus was actually written by Flea, and the song's based on an old gospel song "Jesus is my Aeroplane" that Flea listened to when he was younger. He's not religious in that sense any more, but he feels that music is his Aeroplane.
Submitted by: Spork I agree with "anonymous". This song is all about how music is thier "aeroplane". The song kind of talks about the feeling that you get with music. It kind of ends all the stress of life. That was a horrible way of describing it, I'm sorry, I just don't know what to say. Sorry.
Submitted by: anonymous This song is about drugs and the pleasure of music.
Submitted by: anonymous The 1st time I heard this song, I too thought it was about drugs. But you really have to listen to the words and understand them clearly, "I like pleasure spiked with pain and music is my aeroplane." clearly portrays the messege that music is their aeroplane and what puts them in a better place. Away from the difficulties of everyday lifestyle.
Submitted by: anonymous The kids voices and the kids from the music video is actually flea's daughter Clara's preschool or kindergarten class I can't remember. Hehe how sweet. Oh! and on under the bridge it his mothers gospel group or something like that his mothers choir she sang with. daw. I love flea.
Submitted by: anonymous 2nd guy, I think your thinking about either "by the way" or "I could have lied" ( they both are)
Submitted by: midnitegreen Aeroplane is like airplanes witch are HIGH. ...you know...HIGH
Submitted by: anonymous Yea it's about there love of music. By the way its not Flea's mum in under the bridge it's John's mum's church choir group.
Submitted by: anonymous Its obvious Kiedis was clean at the time of this song and he is saying rather than drugs getting him high its muic so there is no need for drugs.
Submitted by: anonymous In Ak's book he said he was using OHM to try and tell the other band mates that he was using again through the lyrics..
Submitted by: anonymous It's mostly about how much music means to them and how it's their aeroplane and I heard, too, that it was Flea's idea. However there is a lot of drug related issues. Keidis was abusing drugs heavily at this time and he used his songs as an output for that.
