Tool - Faaip De Oiad Song MeaningsLyrics:"I, I don't have a whole lot of time. Um, OK, I'm a former employee of Area 51. I, I was let go on a medical discharge about a week ago and,... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: anonymous Added: 2005-11-15 12:44:42   Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, no one has added an interpretation for this song so I'll be the first. As far as I know, the sample used in this song came from a american radio show called, The Art Bell show. A guy called up and said all that stuff, aparently they found out that satalite signal between the cell phone and the radio show was cut. ne ways, the guy calls back and claims that the whole thing was a hoax. So who knows what really happened. This could be connected to the whole interdimensional/extra dimensional theory along with the current reptillian theory. Area 51 is also associated obviously. Ne way, Faaip De Oiad, translates in Enochian as "The Voice Of God". Also it should be noted that there are some parts of the bible especially the revelation which could be interpereted as having relevence to certain current events, this may explain the latter part of the song.
Submitted by: infinitepaths I have read this one so many times because it was one of the few songs that I could not put my finger on. I knew it had more to it than what was shown, and it is not literal. I really feel that it is metaphorical as all the rest, pretty much. I read it and it finally dawned on me. Have you ever seen the music video for "counting bodies like sheep to the rhythym of the war drums"?? well, think about a person that was once a part of this organization, let's say...Area 51...or maybe a part of that quicksand. Anyway, so then you get "medically discharged", as if there were something wrong with YOUR head. Notice how there is "[chokes]" right in the beginning. remember when Maynard says "I will choke until I swallow"=he will keep searching until he finds what he is looking for. ever heard of the expression, "choke on that or chew on that"? Anyway, this person all of a sudden has been running across the country, haha, do you think he means literally? haha. ok, so he is speaking about how he will be found by "them". He says "they" know about all of the disasters in this world, and how they could be doing something about it, but instead allow it. (watch the counting dead bodies like sheep music video) Maynard speaks in general, not of aliens literally. I do not have enough time to explain all the corruption in this world, so I will instead just hope that you are alive enough to know that on your own. "You're breathing so I guess your still alive, even if signs seem to tell me otherwise" --Kate
Submitted by: anonymous I am an avid fan of both Art Bell and Tool, and was actually listening to the show when that person called both times. And I have to say, it was the scariest shit I have ever experienced. He was talking, running, and crying all out during the call, and just the way he said it all was extremely believable. The disconnection of the satellites was just the tip of the iceberg. I think Tool might be using this as just to say that we don't know everything. The name, as the first poster already pointed out, translates to the voice of god. Again, probably Tool pointing out that we don't know everything. When the guy calls back, in a flat, droning voice, saying it was a hoax, that proved, at least to me, its authenticity.

Submitted by: anonymous Ok, this may be just a crazy misunderstood opinion on the song but, me and my friend one day sat down and listened to all the Tool albums and we noticed something maybe a bit coincidential. Listen to Lost keys, Rosetta Stoned, and Faaip de Oiad in that order it almost seems to tell a story a guy tells doctors he was ubducted by aliens and then he sends a transmition saying people are out to get him. Maybe the doctors work for Area 51 and are trying to get him for what he knows about aliens. You can tell me I'm wrong but its just a thought
Submitted by: anonymous I thought of something, based on what the person above me said. You could listen to those 3 songs in this order:
Submitted by: adrian_garcia It could just possibly be a small miniseries of 'skits' within the albums. Seeing as the albums followed each other, perhaps there'll be another on the next. This can only be speculation but perhaps it follows the same person, after explaining what's going on (and think that he's kind of telling us how the end of human-kind will come about, which is the idea used in Rosetta stoned), he gets cut off by God knows what and finds himself in a hospital (I'd assume a legit one given the conversation between the nurse and doctor prior... like I said, mere speculation) :)
Submitted by: anonymous Faaip has to go first because 10,000days came out after Lateralus. So it doesn't make sense to put that first if Tool was trying to write a story. Imo WAY to much thought into this one but it is cool.
Submitted by: anonymous This skit is just getting the Art Bell clip out there ;) So you can think for yourself. And have a good laugh.
