Tool - Ticks and Leeches Song MeaningsLyrics:Suck and suck. Suckin up all you can suckin up all you can suck. Workin up under my patience like a little tick. Fat little parasite. Suck me ... (See the rest of these lyrics) Submitted by: anonymous Added: 2005-12-21 14:58:58   Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() Well this song is about the music industry of sorts. But that doesn't mean it can't be about someone else **coughthefanscough**. But the music industry does seem to suck your "life" away making you care about money and making albums instead of making music. But interpretation about the fans could mean how fans "suck up" all of the things Tool does, such as having every album and T-Shirt or something of that matter.
Submitted by: SensitiveSoul Try to compare it with 'The Grudge'...Both songs deal with people hurting and taking advantage of other people, but the songs offer a different solution in the end. Forgive and move on, or take revenge.
Submitted by: AllenTehAwesome Straight forward, actually. It's just about people that want to use you for their own personal gain. It's not very complex. You'll find this to be a pattern with most Tool songs. The slow, melodic ones tend to be the deep ones, while the heavy ones tend to be straight forward. This, of course, is not always that case, but in general.
Submitted by: tool9386 because the lyrics are so vague its hard to tell who Maynard is talking about, the music industry, fans, or just some bitch. who knows, but that's the beauty of tool songs, they can normally have serveral interpretations!
Submitted by: anonymous Ticks and Leeches is about Tool's lawsuit against their record company some years ago.
Submitted by: anonymous This song is about Hollywood. I have a bootlegged copy of a Tool concert in LA and Tool dedicated this song to all the Hollywood fans that were in attendence.
Submitted by: anonymous This song is about people who suck the life out of you, it is pretty much whatever you want to interpret it as.
Submitted by: RodHung I would consider this one my all-around favorite TooL song, the best lyrics, music, and of course Danny Carey's drumming is The Balls.
Submitted by: anonymous Yeah.. but they're so damn good it's hard not to want more!
Submitted by: anonymous THIS LYRICAL INTERPRETATION MEANING IS A BIT OF A JOKE.... BUT I WAS LOOKING AT IT AND.. COULDN'T IT BE ABOUT THE IMPERIAL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S DEMAND FOR MORE TAXES? PERHAPS MAYNARD WAS DOING HIS TAXES AND HE GOT SO FREAKIN TICKED OFF.. PERHAPS SCARED AND PERHAPS HE FEELS THE GOVERNMENT IS BEATING HIM UP... AND HE'S HOPING THAT THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS CHOKE ON THEIR POLICIES AND TAX LAW... AND IT'S SAYING HOW WE'RE TAKING ALL WE CAN TAKE BECAUSE THEY'RE TAKING ALL THEY CAN TAKE...AND LEAVING US JUST ENOUGH TO LIVE OFF OF... AND EVEN WHEN WE GIVE GIFTS TO CHARITY (BEAT MY COMPASSION BLACK AND BLUE) THAT'S STILL NOT ENOUGH OF A TAX BREAK.. HEH.. FIGURED IT'S TAX SEASON LET'S HAVE A TAXICAL INTERPERETATION
