Monster Lyrics

His little whispers.
Love Me. Love Me.
That's all I ask for.
Love Me. Love Me.
He battered his tiny fists to feel something.
Wondered what it's like to touch and feel something.
Monster.
How should I feel?
Creatures lie here.
Looking...

Ok I think a guy wanted to feel love, so he tried to feel this unknown emotion in the way humans feel it and ended up raping (or harmed this chick in a possably sexual manner), then realized what he had done was wrong(not knowing it was wrong when he did it), so he went home and went into a bath tub full of kerosene, and possably burnt himself?(kerosene is flamable) but kerosene is also acidic, and he had glass in there with him (I think) so he could have burnt himself witht he acid instead, the best bet I have is some sorta suicide

I don't think Hannah is who he raped. Hannah is his mother, because it goes "Im a glass child, I am Hannah's regrets." Basically, the lyrics speak for themselves, and after you read the backstory, its clearish.

ok,i just want to clear up that the song is NOT based on the book "East of Eden" by John Stienbeck.i read the book, and though there are similarities,it is obvious that the song is not about the book.as to what the song is about,i believe it's about a boy who is abused by his parents.he grows up not knowing what love is,and in an attempt to figure it out,he rapes a girl.then he realizes that he's no better than his parents so he sits in a tub of kerosene and lights it(kerosene is highly flammable) thus committing suicide.

Its about a boy called Henry who is abused at home and his father makes him call him Sir and his mother Hannah. 'Sir' and 'Hannah' refer to Henry as Monster and lock him up in a small dark room with a small window. He wishes he was loved hence 'love me, love me'
and as Henry Grows up, he takes out his childhood anger on someone else.

It's about abuse. Simple as that.

The song is about a boy, not a girl, who grows up with an abusive mother and father. They told him to call his mother Hannah and his father Sir. They called him Monster. He never knew love, so he raped a girl he saw outside his window when he got older. He felt guilty for what he did so he killed himself.

my interprtation of the song was that, as a child Henry was abused, uncared for, something among those lines, so as he becomes an adult hes confused on what love is,the way he interpratates love is through abusive behavior. so when he sees the girl in the red sweater, he trys to ask her a question but she turns away, like his mother in father, inreturn he feels a connection with this girl, or is angry with her. like i said henry is confused, so he steals her virginity. after seeing the girl hurt i image he probably felt bad so when he got home he filled the tub with alcohol and kerosine, what he does with that im not completely sure, my thoughs were that he lit him self on fire, or he sat in the tub and let the karosine burn his skin. and my thoughts on the glow flies are that he saw them on his way home, or maybe the represent an emotion.

I believe it's about a child who never felt any love, just pain. No one cared for him and once he was an adult, he could never feel love because he didn't know what it is. It sickens me parents all over do this. I read what it's about and I hate the fact people use alcohol as a crutch, an escape. I know someone who does and she'll never feel true love. Just guilt and pain. She was also molested as a child. My mom.

The song is about Henry getting abused.Hannah is his mother and the reason it says i am Hannah's regret might mean that he felt like his mother wished he were never born.He grows up to rape a women and then he dies. It's abuse in a realationship. He grew up getting abused it lead him too abuse and rape. It;s what happens to most kids who get abused. If they don't speak out they are most likely to end up dead or just like or close enough to the parent.

It a real story that they based this song about. (on the news) It about a woman named Hannah who was raped by her boyfriend and got pregnant to a boy then the boy found out his mother was upset about having him because it kept reminding her of how she got raped. The son filled a bathtub full of kerosene and caught himself on fire as a way of suicide.

I now know what the song is about (The story posted explains it all) but here is what I origionally thought:

A boy, or perhaps a young man, has a hard upbringing. He is left cold and unfeeling and cuts himself just to try to feel(He battered his tiny fists to feel something). All he wants is to be loved but he is denied.

The boy grows up, still lonley and frozen. He meets a woman and craves her love, but when he is denied he decides to take her by force. He rapes her to fulfill his deep need for love and affection. He realizez that though he was hurting the women he raped, it brought him the only happiness he had ever felt (Their nightmares were his dreams)

The girl he raped is the speaker. She calls him a monster, but is confused. She wonders weather she should hate him, or feel sorry for his terrile misfortune that turned him into such a monster(how should I feel). When she say's "creatures lie here" she is refferring to his past and his inner demons.

She is so upset and torn by the experience, calling herself a "glass child" meaning she has been broken metaphorically. She say's she is hannahs regrets, hannah being another woman who was raped, or perhaps the first person to hurt him so badly.

She kills herself to escape the monster that she cannot bring herself to hate.

I know this is not the real meaning, but I thought it made sense.

His little whispers - A little boy that's scared
Love me, love me - That just wants to be loved
That's all I ask for- That's just what I ask for
Love me, love me - All I want is to be loved
He battered this tiny fists to feel something - Battered this fists, wanting to feel something
Wonder what it's like to touch and feel something -I wonder how it feels like to feel something

    Monsters -The little boys fears
How should I feel? -(Because he can't feel anything, he doesn't know how to feel)
    Creatures lie here -Nightmares
Looking through the window - Can see him and are everywhere

That night he caged her -That night he had controll over her
    Bruised her - Hit her
Broke her - Made her feel sad or broke her bones
He struggled closer- He was trying to get something
Then stole her - Kidnaped her or stole her pride

Violate wrist - Fighting with her
And then her ankles- Cuffed her ankles
Silent pain - Had cloth of something to keep her mouth shut and did something painful

Then he slowly saw their nightmares where his dreams -Slowly recalling memmorys from the past and his nightmares and saw that his nightmares where his dreams

    Monsters -The little boys fears
How should I feel? -(Because he can't feel anything, he doesn't know how to feel)
    Creatures lie here -Nightmares
Looking through the window - Can see him and are everywhere

I will hear there voices - I will hear my fears (people that the boy was scared of)
    I'm a glass child - A child that's fragel
    I am Hannah's regrets - I'm just a burred to Hannah

    Monsters -The little boys fears
How should I feel? -(Because he can't feel anything, he doesn't know how to feel)
Turn the sheets down - My life is turned upside down
Murder ears with pillow lace - Please, take off my ears so I can't hear there voices

There's bathtubs full of glow flies - There's a bathtub full of fire
Bathe in kerosene - Bathe in kerosene so you can bathe in fire (thoughts of death)
Their words are tattooed in his veins, yeah - The words that "the" people said are in his memory forever

well. what I get from the lirics WITHOUT reading the story, To me it souds like its about abourtion.

The first verse is a baby that WAS bornd.
then the 2nd verse would be talking like a baby that is being aborted ...like...the steps to do it.

It was aborted because it was a result of a rape.
I would say "MONSTER" was the person that killed the baby, beeing the doctor, or the mother (in this case, hannah)

I PERSONALLY FIND MORE SENSE IN THE SONG like if it was talking about abortion that if it was from the story
