Monster Lyrics

His little whispers.
Love Me. Love Me.
That's all I ask for.
Love Me. Love Me.
He battered his tiny fists to feel something.
Wondered what it's like to touch and feel something.
Monster.
How should I feel?
Creatures lie here.
Looking...

I think that this song is about an abusive relationship... but not like between spouses or anything... like between a child and his parents... He's doing whatever he can like battering his tiny fists so that he can feel something... ANYTHING... because he doesn't feel love at home... So he's trying to make sure he's alive and figure out how he's supposed to feel and react to everything that's happening...just my interpretation

Well I believe the song is some kind of abuse, I've listened to it over and over again. Whether it be rape, whatever. I believe the song is about someone being abused, also if you listen to "Violet Wrists and then her ankles." Someone clearly cut themselves, whether it be the 'mother' Hannah, as all have claimed, whether it was meg and dia, I think only people that know the true meaning of this song are Meg and Dia, and the "bath tub full of glowflies, bathe in kerosene" think about it, glowflies-kerosene, maybe the glowflies are some kind of symbolism and maybe someone wanted to blow themselves up in the bath tubs, all I know, is the song is full of a deep hurt.

This song was written by Meg & Dia based a story that they wrote. It was about a kid named Henry who wasn't loved by his father of mother, Hannah (Hannah's regret). He grows up and knows nothing about emotions and so he see this girl he wants to talk to. When he tries to talk to her she turns away and he grabs her and she can't git away (cages her). He beats and bruises her, and then stole her virginity. After that he kills himself. So basically this whole song is about a boy/man who raped a girl

Its based on a book called East of Eden by John Steinbeck. You can find that on Meg & Dia's website....

Still confused.. but it sounds like it has to do with either abusive dad, lol, or murder.

i just don't get the whole hannah's regret thing..

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

i think it has something to do with abuse and rape. when she says " I am Hannah's regrets" I think it means that when her mother, Hannah got raped, her mother could not deal with it so she had a diffucult time. When the child was born Hannah treated it differently. Now, when she says "I am a glass child" I think she means she was neglected, abused, ignored, and possibly didn't feel loved. When she says " Bathe in kerosene " it means someone was a acoholic. Because kerosene is a liquid such as gas or alcohol. Well I guess I'd better stop.

This song is about a boy and his parents always verbally abused him and called him monster and stuff. His mom's name is Hannah. He grows up to be one of those crazy outcasts and he wants to feel love but cant. So he rapes a girl. He then kills himself because he realizes that he is truely a monster.

Im not a good explainer but heres the link to the story behind it http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=5051004&blogid=122397730&page=1

I believe that there was a wife(hannah) and a husband, they were in a abusive relationship. There is a such thing called Marital Rape, So I think that's what happened. They had a kid and she grows up knowing she is her mothers (hannahs)regrets.( like the 3rd poster said)

Well for some reason the first thing that popped into my head when I heard this song was Child abuse (of all kinds) and neglection. I'm probably wrong but that's just what I understood out of the song.

I think this song is about a girl named Hannah being raped and now the child of Hannah grows up hating her rapist father.

I believe it's about an abuse. It has to be! It could be physical or emotional. It's most likely in a relationship, maybe rape.

I believe it's about rape. A child (Hannah) gets raped and then she becomes pregnant with her rapisit's child and the child grows up knowing it's Hannah's regret.

well I'm not sure what it is about but I know it's not about their mother being raped (which was a rumor at one point)

and is it just me but if you listen to the demo version, the lyrics are different?

if anyone has the demo version lyrics it be great!
