This song was clearly made to raise awareness of the dangers of whiplash. Turning around quickly is always dangerous, but looking back in anger is EXTRA DANGEROUS. REPEAT. DANGER DANGER: looking back in anger may cause severe whiplass and/or accidental exorcist reenactments

This is a song about how it's stupid to look back and think what "could have been" It's just not worth it, and when you see that lost-love on the street, just walk on by, because it's not worth anything, don't look back in anger. "And so sally can wait, she knows it's too late, as we're walking on by, her soul slides away, but 'don't look back in anger,' I heard you say"

The song is partly a homage to John Lennon. There is an obvious similarity in the opening chords to Lennon's Imagine. The line 'so you start a revolution from your bed' can be interpreted as a reference to Lennon and Yoko Ono's Bed-in protest. However, much of the rest of the song is typical Gallagher nonsense lyrics, but of the type so open to interpretation that many people are easily touched by it. In one interview Noel said that the 'Sally' mentioned in the chorus is Sally Cinnamon from the Stone Roses song, but more likely is thast the name just fitted nicely.

Reading other interpretations from this site about don’t look back in anger I agree with Mr. "Jim Morrison" ha nice name by the way ... The line "but don’t look back in anger" I think it’s telling us don’t reflect on the tough times when your upset, irritated, annoyed or what ever tragic or heartbreaking moment might have happened in the past present; don’t look back with foolish feelings, you might regret what you do … && that one line always gets me, “so I start a revolution from my bed,” I always imagine, a boy in his bed constructing some weird plan and that’s his revolution he’s starting right in his bed. “Cause you said the brains I have went to my head” … I think that it corresponds with “You ain’t ever gonna burn my heart out.” Because he’s saying, what the hell, I don’t care, this is my plan I’m the shit! (“Cause you said the brains I have went to my head”) and then he explains how your not going to bring him down “You ain’t ever gonna burn my heart out” ohh I love this song =]! ha peaaccee

My girlfriend dumped me a while ago and slept with my best friend the day afterwards, this was a few months ago... I remember I was listing to this song and I realized its meaning, at least to me. The whole song revolves around "don't look back in anger" I see this as in,whatever mistakes you made you can't help them or change them, forget the past and have a great time. The very last line of the song turns everything around... "don't look back in anger, I heard you say.... at least not today" and sure enough I know that my ex girlfriend is already looking back in anger at every mistake she made

This is a break up song end of story
"don't you know you might find a better place to play"
means your ex thinks there's someone better than you
"don't look back in anger"
is what his ex said she means don't look bad at our break up
think of it as moving on

this song is about noels mother telling him in 1981 to stop being a depressed sook lounging about indoors and to go out and play 'just sniffin some glue' wth the other kids in the street, and he's making an overblown massive deal about it like any 80's child would do.
