   This is what I think it means:
   The P.O.V. for this song is a boy that could be a nerd or an underdog at school and he loves a girl. But that girl's boyfriend is most likely the jock of the school and everyone likes him and he's popular but he's a jerk. This boy obviously dreams about this girl a lot and thinks that if she just gave him a chance, he could be a better boyfriend and do and give her all the things she deserves, unlike her current boyfriend.

   I think that the song's pretty much what other people said, but 27 is a very exact number, and a certain Louis Tomlinson has that very number of tattoos mentioned in the song... I don't know for sure and I might be wrong, but this is just a guess.
