As many people have said this song is just about a girl dying that a boy really loved, but he never really got to tell her. The lyrics say that his judgement is clouded, and in his depression, he kills himself in order to be with her. This is such a sad song!

Personally I think that it's about obviously about and guy and a girl in love. But for some odd reason they just can't be together. For reasons such as parents, long distance, etc. and he doesn't want it to be that way. But I do completely understand where everyone who says the whole "death" thing is coming from. It could very well be that too. But I believe it can be any situation that you think it is because we all think of different scenarios and reasons. I luv u 1D!<3

Summary:
This song is about a boy who decides to kill himself and is thinking of his girlfriend. At first i thought that the girlfriend was dead, but dont you think it would be a little creepy to lay with a dead person? and why would she be in her bed? so i think that hes spending his last night with the love of his life before he leaves. its quite sad really

This song is about a boyfriend who has lost his girlfriend because she has died. He can no longer cope being without her and has chosen to commit suicide. In the end, he is finally reunited with her in Heaven.

I think it is about someone leaving and you don't want them to go. Where does it mention the person is dead. They are obviously alive when they sing the song. I mean, you don't lay in a bed with a dead body. This person is alive. Maybe their just leaving or they are breaking up.

This is honestly an emotionally beautiful song! I have never heard someone put so much emotion in to a verse like Louis did. His part is breathtaking

This song is about a guy who tries to cope after his girlfriends death but realizes that he can't so he commits suicide. In Liam's part he is remembering times when he was with her and how much he loved her. Harry's part is him saying that if he had more time he would be her everything. That leads straight to the choruses where he says that he would do and be everything for her and his life is depending on the moment when he tells her he loves her but he's to late. Niall's part is when he realizes he cant live without her and he wants to be left alone so nothing can remind him of her. "My judgement's clouded like tonight's sky" is when he admits that he hasn't been thinking straight so his decision to kill himself may have been rushed. Louis's part is about how he didn't/couldn't tell anyone about his depression. Zayn's part is right before he jumps. He thinks about times in his life as it flashes by him. "There's a numb on my toes standing close to the edge" says that he kills him self by jumping off of something. As he falls he makes a joke of his life.

He says "The numb in my toes." he is jumping of a building or bridge going to kill himself thinking that he will meet up with his girlfriend in heaven. He says "As I begin to fall I make a joke of it all." he jumps and is happy he will see his love again. The end is them seeing each other in heaven. -
People are taking this to a different level. This song is simply about a boy explaining his love for a girl.
