   To me it sounds like someone watching someone die (maybe get taken off life support) in a hospital room surrounded by that person's friends and family. Sleepy head is just a sad but easier way for the guy to think about it because maybe dying is just like sleeping.

   I think this song is basically about the dreamscape.
   With so many weird things, like, "My beard grew down to the floor, and out through the door." It's pretty obvious it's about a very strange dream.
