Someone was speaking about his mother and it upset him to the point that he anted a way to end the pain of losing her. "Satan" in the form of a bottle(potion) offered him a way to forget. Wether it be a perverbial potion, drugs or alcohol. Or it could just be about someone he or someone else loved that left or passed on and searching for a way to end the pain.
