   The song was written by anthony, to flea because flea finally found the girl of his dreams and since he and anthony are life long friends anthony wrote the song to express how happy he was for his friend and wish flea and his girl a blissful life together

   This is my favorite RHCP song....and while it might refer to genuine love at some parts...it also definitely refers to sex a lot.

   Regarding the lyrics, it's about a guy who is welcoming a new family member that his brother or sister will marry. Good lyrics. On the contrary, the video is awful and the opposite of the lyrics.
   
   Come to think of it, when you decided to get married to your future spouse he/she is the one you want to have a future with. He/she is your twin flame. Therefore, the video is contradictory to the deep, abiding love, twin flame you are talking about. I DON'T AGREE!

   When I heard this song I had a strong sense of what it was about. Then I watched the video and felt even more strongly that I was right. While it is about finding a deep and abiding love, one scene shows the couple in the same position, about to kiss while several settings flash behind them, representing what I feel to be different lifetimes where they are always together. They are often looking at one another with a tremendous love in various moments of play,quiet and togetherness. At the end of the video when they are passing one another while walking with different partners. They instantly recognize the other as their twin flame act upon it. The beautiful thing about music is that it can be interpreted in as many ways as there are people to listen to it. Even more beautiful are when two people interpret it similarly.

   It seems Esoteric based to me. The spiritual realm both positive and negative forces/energies wanting to be in your life. Both Jesus and Satan want to be apart of your life and these lyrics could go either way depending on who you are and how you view your self and our true nature of existence. Jesus shows you the way to your true self where true bliss and happiness are awaiting, and Satan is the false ego that tries to convince you that in order to find happiness and bliss is through materialism, greed, selfishness, pleasures of the flesh and will give you all that but with a price. YOUR SOUL.

   I don't mean to be an ass but you are all wrong. this was written by anthony and played at Chad's wedding. I know this for a fact because my friends aunt is chads wife.
   I have seen the wedding tape and anythony flea and john got on stage and played while they danced. it truely is an amazing song. I love them, they're vrrrrrry talented people.

   This song is self explanatory he loves her and wants her to be happy no matter who she is with. That is true love. I would say this is my absolute favorite song of all time. It means a lot to me because this guy that I like dedicated it to me. I want him to know that I still love him and I really appreciate him.

    I was having some troubles with a girl who just broke up with me, and this song (along with a few friends) is what really kept me going.
    
    I kept on telling myself (and her) that I support what she does 100%, whether it involves me or not.
    
    With that in mind, I can believe this song being for Flea, but I think it also sends a message that you have to really be supportive if you ever want to get through life. You can't just expect everything to work out, you have to force yourself to be cool and understand.
