Shakira: The One Meaning
Song Released: 2002
The One Lyrics
Each single morning
So I count on someone on Friday nights
To take me dancing and then
To church on Sundays
To plant more dreams
And someday think of kids
Or maybe just to save a little money...

She's saying that a particular person is the one she need in her life. Her true love. " The road back home is always long" means He's finding his way back home to her where he should have always been. " If your close to me I'm holding on" means that if he is close to being home she is waiting on him to return with open arms. Basically if he is finding himself then he will find her eventually. Until then she's waiting. It's spiritual. She can feel the one near her. Life is a journey. He's finding his way back to his destiny.
