This song is referring to how friendships can end. In this scenario, there are two friends who are - dare I use the word choice - 'besties.' They do everything together, never had any big arguments, and always hang out. As time goes on, one of the friends doesn't want to go anywhere with the other,doesn't even want to talk, and it seems she always making excuses. This song is from the other friend's point of view, wondering if they are still friends or if they're foes.
Or it could something like my case, me and my friend were best friends for 5 years, around the 6th year we knew each other, I changed drastically, she didn't like the way I acted, and we slowly split apart. Now, I don't even make eye contact with her anymore. This is how I interpret the song.
