I met a subliminal advertising executive once, but just for a second.

I think that the song is pretty simple. Subliminal advertising. You are watching a action movie and during the car crash DRINK COCA COLA comes across the screen. or the subliminal radio messages, they were played in the background of a song that was in too high of an octave for you to notice but your subconscious would pick it up. It was important for the companies to make money and hard to notice that it was happening.

I could be entirely off here, but I don't think so, after Flood their songs just got a whole lot simpler and not-quite-as-interesting.
