Buried Alive Lyrics

Take the time just to listen
When the voices screaming are much too loud
Take a look in the distance
Try and see it all
Chances are that ya might find
That we share a common discomfort now
I feel I'm walking a fine line
Tell me only if...

to me,i get the feeling that he is singing about how unsatisfied he is with his life. he feels like he is stuck in a rat race, his daily routine is a drag, depressing, monotonous. he has fallen a few times in his life, and as each time he falls he is discouraged of his view on life. like he is a slave to the "machine" hence "buried alive"

From my point of view and how this song connects with my own personal life, i would have to say that to me this song is about trying to avoid your inner demons. That being said this song does make me think of someones own personal hell inside themselves. Being broken down to the point where they are "buried alive"

This is not about the rev, it was written before he died. Learn your shit. It's about a man who died and is sent to hell, and is suffering from the damnation he faces. It's a very intense song filled with many demonic and biblical references. More or less, it's about the guy burning cuz he was a dick in real life. Not the rev.

Applied to me personally, this song is a great description of my mania and mental health issues. It describes my swings perfectly. In my mind I have to voices that bring out demons when I’m manic, then transfers into the flat out rage in a melt down. I’m sure the writer had his personal story in this, but it’s amazing how many people can translate this song based on personal experiences.

I'm gonna take a different spin on this. I've picked up on some similarities in a lot of their songs. I'm not an "Avenged Sevenfold Expert" so dont judge but I believe it's a story of a lost soul that has reincarnated several times onto earth. This soul is tired and taken by evil ways each time until he is finally sent to the gates of hell where he will live for the rest of his existence.

In my view, it is a perfect example of a Schizophrenic episode starting.

In the beginning, reality is crashing down around the singer. "Take the time just to listen, when the voices screaming are much too loud..." They are unable to tell what's real or fake anymore, the voices are deafening. "darkness has kept my light concealed", a fact that constantly haunts those suffering from the illness, as the dark thoughts cloud their mind.
They are scared of what comes next, when they will be "buried alive" by their schizophrenic outburst.

After the "transformation" (the guitar solo), the voice transitions to their schizophrenic consciousness, where they are afraid of everything, and attack anything that moves. If you have experience with them, you know how it feels, like they are stealing your soul. This is also how the schizophrenic feels as well, though they can do little to hinder their outbursts. "this is now, your life" might be referring to how schizophrenics worry that they won't come down from an episode, whilst it might also echo how their caregiver feels.

Very accurate, in my experience. Best of luck to all of you that know someone suffering from mental illness, it's hard, really hard sometimes. Thank you for all that you do.

It has nothing to do with being buried alive. Buried alive is a euphemism. It's about the struggles in life and losing yourself in it. Your looking for a way out but you can't your trapped inside yourself."Buried alive", "this is now you life, die buried alive." This is now your life you are dead buried inside yourself.

To me it’s about someone who is going through life very unhappy even if they have what they thought would help and if I’m going to be completely honest here I think about how I’ve failed in life and how much I’m hated by my family and this is a call for help if anyone wants to talk to me message me on Instagram @naughty_prince4459

For me personally, I knew that my brother was going to die because he chose not to change his habits to receive a liver transplant. This was torture... When he did pass, I became overwhelmed with greif, depression and anxiety. Over medicating myself on benzos and making poor decisions, it got so bad, all the hurt I was putting my family and friends thru, it seemed like I was bured alive. I was able to finally see the light after onging fuck ups, i felt like my family was giving up on me... I am now drug free and no longer feel like I once did. For this I am grateful and I give thanks to Avenged Sevenfold's music for helping me recognize my self distruction...

This is about a person who is waiting for his final punishment. He feels very bad and has no more hope. Buried alive means he is still alive but for the entire world he is already dead so he's like buried alive. (Imagine someone is facing death penalty)

Preparing for the future living with ''the mindset'' of death about reminding the soul[s] in The Band that are like a family who listens to themselves and tries to understand the coming of ''DEATH'' to take away one of their ''loved ones'' who was expected to die much to soon and be taken out from their family circle. All along, out of love and concern for him for a long time, where subconsciously were influenced to feel like they're all turning into a walking dead, dragging their bodies around. Thinking and feeling that if he's going to die and be buried for good, this will be making the rest of them feel and think like they have been and are going to be slowly buried alive for sure, just thinking about it. Where one by one are in ''thought'' with their soul brother that are digging the grave and ''imagines'' being buried alive to be taken under and down towards a firery hell. Where this fight will be taking place to defend and have his soul saved to be free from the clutches of ''the thieves'' that have been living with a decomposing body that was and has been ''buried alive'' for too long and who was looking ahead to be laid to Rest In Peace.

what, no one does drugs here?

this is song that helps me in my own recovery.. whether it is what the song's about or not, I still interpret it that way..

recovery and relapse. trying to stay clean and sober, and its a life-long battle. sometimes the walk's easy, but some of us struggle to not use, and some relapse and go thru hell all over again until we can find that light again. if we do

Its about someone concealing shared pain..take the time just to listen....with someone so shut in their own that the disregard is killing him although he won't outright say it in fear of the others regression. Then it goes on to question his own choices in favor to her feelings of being insecure. The view part is a double metaphor for his own tears and the continual storm in their relationship. The last part is him giving up, invoking all evil through heartache since he couldn't save her from her pain, he will make it obvious to her so she knows he was with her all along... open to interpretation i guess

May it could be about the holocaust... im not jewish and i dont give a fuck about the past but i think they are talking like the voice of a jewish going through the holocaust and then the tone changes to the evil that causes this with fucking bible references...

I think it's about a battle between good and evil losing something you love is the absolute hardest thing to deal with. Notice st the end of the song his anger took him took him the wrong gate hint hint. The devil is promising him to take away his pain and gladley take his soul. He turned his back on god and now he is paying the ultimate price. This is where anger leads you. Dwell on.that. I have been thinking of killing myself for a while because of my wife. But I have a beautiful 8 month old girl. This song saved my life 7
