2nd Sucks Lyrics
like I make my deals with the devil.
You've been at it for years
but couldn't reach that next level.
Let's keep it real,
this is no competition to me.
Even if everyone around you acts
like they don't see.
Is anybody else...

Jeremy said in an interview that it was about people who take themselves or what they do so seriously and just need to be on top in everything.

This could be just from people who never supported their band when they first started. I mean if you've listened to their old albums its all about them making it big & not caring what all those haters say or caring what anyone else thinks.
And for me personally I can relate to every lyric in this song.

ADTR and FYS toured with New Found Glory.
ADTR became more popular as the tour went on.
The promoters offered ADTR more set time if they wanted it, but this would mean FYS would have to shorten their set time.
FYS refused (understandably), but also said some harsh words to ADTR about them and then released 'Paul Revere's Midnight Ride' on their 'Enemy of the World' album, which is about ADTR.
ADTR then wrote '2nd Sucks' about Four Year's inability to progress after such a long time as a band and the video to '2nd Sucks' sees ADTR fighting FYS in a video game.

Jeremy has started 2nd sucks live a bunch of times on YouTube with "this song is about shit talking on the internet"

I guess I can understand it being about Four Year Strong, but the two have toured together before. Back on New Found Glory's Easycore tour, they were both openers for the US run of dates. That sucks if there is this rivalry between them. I love both bands. And I've gotten to meet FYS, they are some of the nicest guys ever. ADTR seems to come from an honest place in videos I've seen. Ugh... I'll just keep listening to both.

I have been told that it was written about Four Year Strong, who refused to tour with A Day To Remember. A Day To Remember, and Jeremy especially, didn't take too kindly to this, so once they had become what they believed to be the bigger band (I am not taking sides, just explaining, I enjoy both bands and their music), they decided to write a hate song about Four Year Strong.

Apparently this song was written about the band Four Year Strong. Although how true that actually is is for Jeremy know and the rest of us to find out.
