   I think as a Christian he is talking about god finding him in a dark place and bringing him to better days.

   This is one of his more positive songs written and it's sung in a way that reflects that. I think it's about knowing things are going to get better and even when things become dark,better days are just around the corner.
   
   [I will slip again and you will find me] He knows he has support from someone; a family member, friend, or whomever he's referring to. So if he falls, he knows that person will nurture him in a way that he can get back up and keep living.
   
   [We're on our way to better days, we'll find our faith, we'll find a way] I think it's talking about finding their way to the light, finding faith in God.
   
   [All the colored meanings of your past] This is hard to figure out but I'll give it a try. Maybe there's parts about the person that he's referring to that is still unknown to him. Their past is a mystery to him... but like an angel they'll always be there for him.
