What does Unconditionally mean?

Katy Perry: Unconditionally Meaning

Album cover for Unconditionally album cover

Song Released: 2013

Unconditionally Lyrics

Oh no, did I get too close?
Oh, did I almost see what's really on the inside?
All your insecurities
All the dirty laundry
Never made me blink one time

Unconditional, unconditionally
I will love you unconditionally
There is no fear...

Loving someone unconditionally means you love them fully with everything you have and never judge just love. In the song she sings and pleads with this person to open your heart and let me love you unconditionally.

I just love this song! It's about loving someone unconditionally the way it's supposed to be. You take them as they are flaws and all. You are best friends and soulmates. If everyone could find real genuine love like this. Would be a beautiful way to live life.

She loves him just totally loves him. He may have flaws or personal issues. She doesn't care. Maybe not even about a couple could also be about friends. It's someone she loves and if he would allow her she would show him how to love too.

I think the song is about being in love. Because it’s very touching and people always have each other. And we connect to our friends and family, even church members! Sometimes we feel that way, she and I have same type of Jesus Christ!

Did she get too close too quickly?
Was he revealing himself to her?
She says she accepts his faults.
    She was coming on strongly.

There are no conditions where she does not love him.
She will let go of the world to be with him.

Accepting once more, and finds him likable.
She knows his faults, and is willing to take the bad with the good for love.

She says to be ready for love.

    Accepts him completely.
Will you do the same for me?

hell naw.....its the same illuminati crap...how can u sing bout God's love when u fill the song with satanic imagery like owls.notice the cross earings were upside down crosses and katy is seen burning in flames...for those who read the bible..does that sound familiar?

I believe this song has its roots in the originator of LOVE (1 John 4:8), & her understanding of how much God love has actually influenced her. No doubt, this song must have brought her to tears, and probably still does often!

I really agree with everyone who said that this song is about loving no matter what and also about loving eternally. It is a lovely idea. Really lovely. The people who have explained this song before me here really said everything I wanted to say. I think it is one of Katy's deeper songs.

She will love him unconditionally. Unconditionally means without having limits. Means loving wholly and completely there is not limits to the way she loves him.

This song is about being in love, not just in a relationship but within the family like father and son, mother and daughter etc.

Not about Jesus. Just about how much she loves someone. Very nice from Katy perry.

It's about the way Jesus loves people and wants to free them from their insecurities and "dirty laundry".
The lyric 'there is no fear now' is based on 1 John 4:18, and the phrase 'come just as you are' is a common one used by Christians to exhibit how God loves us in the way Katy's song describes. Another reason I think this interpretation is correct is because of subtle things like her wearing cross earrings in the music video.
