   It's about being high on Mari and realising that he/ she can or is being penetrated with old miserable fearful things in thoughts including demonic. The consequence is being able to listen to the inner voice (all that represents good) that naturally heals. This can happen though meditation. It's not just dopamine.

   Fixing a hole IMO is about a person who has been broken (relationship wise) and wants to keep up a barrier from being hurt again and is trying to find them self.

   The song is in the perspective of an old man.
   You see that he is always looking for an activity to occupy his time rather than his closed mind.
   Another thing that you can see is that many old people at the time were really conservant people, who wouldn't agree the youth's use drugs, music and other things.

   He is changing his life to ward of depression and the mind wandering bit is getting stuck in a rut.
   @ the guy who said it is about brain damage from lsd LOL(lsd is harmless to your body including your brain unless you get fake stuff then it is very bad). If anything this would put lsd in a positive light and there are bits of this song that strongly suggest lsd was part of the reason he decided to fix his life.
