Raise Your Weapon Lyrics

Rippin' my heart was so easy, so easy
Launch your assault now, take it easy
Raise your weapon, raise your weapon
One word and it's over

Rippin' through like a missile
Rippin' through my heart
Rob me of this love
Raise your weapon, raise...

part of (or one rendition of) the king arthur legend is that the waring sides in the story actually came close to a truce; what stopped this is a knight unwittingly flashing the blade of his sword in the gleam of the sunlight to kill an adder that had just bit him at the negotiating tables. it created instant doubt, chaos and confusion in the minds of those present and the fight which erupted created massive devastation, hence ending the life of king arthur and most of his men...
this is a song is a comment about warmongering in the present day- and sadly and more importantly about how a complete lack of trust is exists today which you really cant blame people for- once a weapon is raised it goes out the window. you don't think the better of someone when they they have have a gun in your face, and these days there are some other bigger weapons that really mean OVER...

Pen with the bent wrist crooked king, signing away our peace. Left handed people write with a bent wrist. Our last two presidents, Bush and Obama are both left-handed, it likely refers to either of them and the continuing warfare state.

Its about a break up and raising your guard once again..and moving on...

When she says "love your ego..you wont feel a thing"

she is saying that if you love your self and think your above the situation it will be easier for you to move on

This song reminds me of my ex boyfriend. He showed me this song.. we still talk. But I'm a girl & I was so horrible to him. I loved him so much that it was just crazy and I started doing crazy things and hurting him. He finally broke up with me. He put up with it for a long time. I will always love him & I regret what I did.. I just couldn't control myself. I :( I wonder if he listens to this song and thinks about us?

Surely the "one word" is 'Sorry' - then the war would be over...

Actually, there are many interpretations (<-- Lit student who wrote an analysis paper on it)
There is obviously intended meaning about both war and a relationship. The war is meant to illustrate the climax of a relationship, an important conflict. This is a song about heartbreak, about frustration and blame. That much is certain.
There is also very much left to interpretation. It is not clear whether the song refers to the start of a conflict, or its end. However, the more I think about it, the more I believe it speaks to the end of a conflict (raise your weapon = surrender, one word and it's over, speaking about burning in the present tense). Naturally, this pertains to both physical and mental warfare, and the singer asks his or her partner to oblige in peace-making, mourning the hurting that has been inflicted.

/facepalm about world peace... This song is about a Significant Other who ruined the relationship. The mention of dropping bombs and burning what was built is referring to the relationship that was ruined. After listening to it about a hundred times because I just went through a relapse with an Ex, I gave a lot of thought about what she meant by one word and its over. I believe that one word is "war" if anyone else has any other opinions I would love to hear it.

The singer is comparing a breakup to a war. The relationship sounds like the partner is self-centred. And perhaps they are angry at the fact that someone has broken up with them that the person is now taking acts of revenge.

This song describes the bone chilling reality of war and such. It is a beautiful song and gives me chills. The vocals blow my mind every damn time.

I think of it as a religious kind of way how David was feeling when Goliath was challenging the Israelites to fight. and when David saw that Goliath was "raising his weapon" he went for the kill.

I think it's about love, and how her love did something horribly wrong, and she doesn't know what to do. He has "dropped bombs" and "burned" everything they worked for, and it all comes down to this. Raise your weapon with another jab at me, or raise your weapon and do something like that again, and it's over. And the dubstep part, I think it shows the tension. OMG, I just love this song.... And the fact that is has meaning! Just beautiful.

not sure what it means. i really like the house only version by sarferrari on youtube, he added his own little guitar beat in the second half of the song.

I think its about world peace, its saying "raise your weapon and its over" all it takes is one person to raise their weapon and shit hits the fan. :)
