It's all about a guy who is looking back over his shoulder and realizes that he once found himself anxious and overwhelmed on a relationship he would be ran over off it. It works for a girl too at the other way around.
Eventually he made a call out of it and found out that he were capable to move on and work his way for a better life.
And he gives it up he was wrong to believe himself as too weak and dependant toward the other person's absence.
Funny thing is that he blames on a love triangle the cause for the breakup, but it's not clear if he was in love with a married guy that wouldn't divorce his wife to stay with him (again: or with her), or if he was himself the married guy that was knocked off a possessive relationship from a new girl that showed him a way out of it.
Nevertheless it points out a truth: we are always stronger than we think towards life's challenges. Believe yourself and follow your instincts always when before a threatening situation
