Songs about Beer
Considering that wine is supposed to be the more romanticized potent potable, isn't it kind of weird that we have this many songs about beer? Seriously, beer? And it's all in English. We'll have to check sometime whether this many songs about beer exist in German, but we have a sneaking suspicion that the Germans are a little less overwhelmed by their own crafted beverage.
Anyway, beer is the heady subject of many a verse here, both as a subject itself, a passing topic on the way to other matters, or even as one course in a single night of getting blotto. Don't worry if it gives you a belly. That's where you keep your extra love!
"We’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses"
David Allan Coe
Brooks & Dunn
"Let your hair down, turn the music up
We gonna paint the town flat, tear it up
The party starts here get in line
Beer thirty a honky tonk time"
"Unless it's got a dirt road leading down to a fishing hole
With a little piece of moonlight, a couple cans of Bud Light
Where I can cuddle with my baby and I can pull her real close
No, I don't wanna go unless heaven's got a dirt road"
"Hell yeah, I like beer
It gets me grinnin' from ear to ear
Not just every now and then
I'm talking 365 days a year
I can do it around the clock
I don't like it just a little, oh I like it a lot"
Bowling for Soup
"Hooray For Beer!
I'm really glad you're here
Let's make this moment last
You feel so right
Wanna be with you all night
Shout it out
Hooray For Beer!"
Tom T. Hall
"I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow
I like beer. it helps me unwind and
sometimes it makes me feel mellow "
C. W. McCall
