Dystopian Songs
It's the end of the world as we know it - and you're not looking so terrific yourself. These are songs about the downfall of what we all quaintly refer to as "human civilization." They're predictions of doom, gloom, and despair for the future - or the immediate present, depending on your level of pessimism. Since it's a common science fiction theme, some of these do pay homage to such classics as "Nineteen Eighty-Four." As the saying goes, "I made it to 2010 and all I got from the scifi books of my youth was the lousy dystopian government."
These songs raise the question: Is mankind capable of governing itself? If it were, perhaps it would then have no need of governing.
