10,000 Fists Lyrics

Survivor
Survivor

One more goddamn day when I know what I want
And my want will be considered tonight, considered tonight
Just another day when all that I want
Will mark me as a sinner tonight, I'm a sinner tonight,...

"People can no longer cover their eyes"
    - The masses Cant ignore the mounting societal problems, they are ready to fight back.
"If this disturbs you then walk away"
    - If you are bothered by the peoples' dissent then get out of our way.
"You will remember the night that you were struck by the sight of ten thousand fists in the air."
    - (In the Future) You will see and appreciate the collective change brought forth by a bottom-up revolution of the people.

This song embodies a Marxian style revolution in the face of those who are conflicted with the nature of the change.
On an interesting note, this could also simply refer to Disturbed and their music. They are playing to get a message out, and those who don't like it can step back and watch them rise to the top.

Erin (who I probably pushed off this page) is absolutely right. I assume some of you have heard a little song called umm... "Indestructible"?

Woah, an anti-war song? Really?? There is not one anti-war song by Disturbed anywhere, including this one. This song is about unity, what I said originally was straight from David, whom is the singer for those who don't seem to know this band very well, and here it is again-"Meant to signify unity and strength, the kind of elation and power that can be felt at a momentous rock show. It's speaking to the nonbelievers: You will remember the night you were struck by the sight of ten thousand fists in the air."

I beleive the fists symbolise that Disturbed prefer us to use fists in the air rather then the devils horns sign with your fingers.

This is a song about Revolution, a rebellion against oppression and people waking up to the truth from the lies they have blindly supported.

I think this song is one of rebellion. "We are the ones who will open your mind Leave the Weak and the Haunted behind" Basically leaving those who can't fend for themselves and the Haunted or those that we deem to be inferior to be left behind. The 10,000 fists is the symbol of 10,000 people rallying behind the cause.

I see it as a when a group of people raise a fist in a sign of group power and control to be forceful in whats right.

It is an anti-war song. The album is about how he disagrees with us being in Iraq. 10,000 democratic fists in the air.

It's a song about power and unity of the masses. The line 'Ten Thousand Fists' suggests a kind of anger, while the fact that he has chosen to put them all in the air suggests an elevation above something, possibly oppression, and of course, war. It is basically pro democracy and anti repression, eg the PATRIOT act

I think this song describes how david and the rest of them get the rush when they're up on stage playing infront of 10,000 people and how he can't give it up for the world. It also tells that he breaths the passion of music.
