David Draiman once explained that the song is about the tendency for society to create maniacs by glamorizing them and making them larger than life. When a person is killed it's not the victim that shows up on the TV screen. We have to know more about the person or people who committed the crime. This encourages more wannabe maniacs to go out and commit the same crimes, to get the same glory and to die in infamy. This is how society and the media creates a legion or monsters.

The song is about how the media glorifies mass murderers by posting their pictures and names all over the internet and news giving them fame they don't deserve and effectively giving a reason for more crazy people like them to commit more mass murders in order to become famous. All this without even mentioning the victims essentially disrespecting them.
