    I heard it was about Elton John and Bernie Taupin. They had a disagreement of some sort, supposedly they were on and off again lovers.

    I think this song is about how he got into a fight with his lover but still loves them and misses them alot. They aren't speaking to each other until one apologizes but neither person wants to admit that they were wrong.
