Fleetwood Mac: You Make Loving Fun Meaning

You Make Loving Fun Lyrics
You make me happy with the things you do
Oh, can it be so?
This feeling follows me wherever I go
I never did believe in miracles
But I've a feeling it's time to try
I never did believe in the ways of magic
But i'm...

Apparently, Christine McVie told Mick Fleetwood this song was about a dog. Now THAT, I believe. Songwriters don’t usually expound on the meaning of their lyrics; they leave it up to listeners.

Sweet, wonderful you
You make me happy with the things you do
Oh, can it be so?
This feeling follows me wherever I go
I never did believe in miracles
But I've a feeling it's time to try
I never did believe in the ways of magic
But i'm... Ready to try
You make me happy with the things you i don’t believe in magic but I am ready to try sweet wonderful person makes loving fun -
I feel she is singing the miracle of real love and the magic she feels inside. I absolutely love the background harmony during the chorus. Makes me feel warm inside. Thanks Christine for such a beautiful song!

I love this song. It is unapologetic in its enthusiasm and emotion ('sweet, wonderful you, you make me happy with the things you do' and 'you make loving fun, it's all I want to do') I also love the innocence and wonder in Christine's lyric ('I never did believe in miracles, but I've a feeling it's time to try. I never did believe in the ways of magic and I'm beginning to wonder why') Again, it's how I feel about my man. :) xx

I think Christine said in one of her recent interviews that this was a song about her new boyfriend right after her divorce with Jon McVie. A typical love song, but nevertheless it has great lyrics and the bass line is sooo cool...
