Wake up
Run for your life with me
Wake up
Run for your life with me

In another perfect life
In another perfect light
We run
We run
We run

[verse 1]
The rats are on parade
Another mad charade
What you gonna do

Dave Grohl is trying to give us the keys to our handcuffs, so we can run like the old souls in the video.

About life. About love. About wanting to escape the current situation you are stuck in. Although the lyrics appear political, I dont feel that when I listen to this song. For me this song holds a message for someone, letting them know that they could run with me - whenever and however long they wanted to and we could be free together. Life could be whatever we wanted it to be if we could just run together ❤️

Wanting to escape the stress of the life we wish to live yet being held down an enslaved by the world via government and 9-5 jobs. Instead we should be following our dreams and listening to our hearts.
