    Wow, you people over use the word random. If the people who attended the party were there because their names were chosen from a hat, they would be random people. If they had rolled dice to determine what they were going to talk about, then what they were "shouting down his ear" would be random. If the whole music biz had flipped a coin to decide whether to be bitchy or not, then their bitchiness would be random.

    As for the meaning of the song i agree with Lily. I think it's about how famous people think they can just pick anyone they want, quite literally, at random, and that person will fall in love with them. The celebrity would think that any person who was allowed to love them is so lucky.

    Also the lyrics, I knew him before you and I blew him before you, might have to do with how people are always trying to act like they are better fans because they liked the band before they were cool. Or they dated this guy before he was famous.

    Also, this song is for sure not about the assassination of Franz Ferdinand

    Basically, it's just a random song about a mad party the singer went to and random and drunk people were shouting random things down his ear.

    'Do you want to' refers to do you want to go out with me?
