She's always looking at me.
She's always looking at me.
She's such a charmer oh no.

She's stole my karma oh no.
Sold it to the farmer oh no.
She's always looking at me.
She's...

Seems to me like the girl he is referring to wants him and he wants her, but they can't have each other. He screams like he does in this song because that is exactly how she makes him feel.

Well, in my opinion, i think the songs meant for different perceptions. To me, its about a girl who makes him feel uncomfortable because she's always looking at him and she's a "charmer". But I could be wrong, im sure it relates to a more specific example from Calebs life; but thats just how i relate to the song. thats the beauty of music, everyone can relate to it in some way or another.

its about caleb being left in west viginia after the girl (idk her name) took his "karma" (car) and sold it to a farmer. he then worked for the farmer and bought his car back and tried to get back to kansas

I think the song is about Yoko Ono. "She stole my karma, oh no" "she's always looking at me"< As in, the 'Imagine' video and others

This song, which is based on real events, sees lead singer Caleb Followill resisting the charms of a preacher's wife.
Caleb Followill in Magnet magazine talked about how Kings of Leon came up with their album's name: "It was actually the name of an old church conference we went to as little kids - it was just for the preachers and their kids. We had a lot of good memories there. As soon as I came up with 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' for the last album, my little brother said the next one had to be called 'Because Of The Times'."
The video was directed by the British director Robert Hales, who was also responsible for the promo for Gnarls Barkley's international hit "Crazy." Hales suggested the Kings Of Leon undergo hypnotism for the video, but the band were too strong willed for it to too work. They tried faking being hypnotized, but eventually it was agreed the four-piece would just do a straight performance video.
