   Being as it's a Christian band I'd definitely say he's talking about finding God and his struggles in life. He's saying that he is waiting for Something beautiful, God, to help him on his journey.

   I interpret this song as a christian song. The writer is struggling and having hard time in life, but he is surrounding by the idea of god. The line "It's like I know where I need to be/But I can't figure out, yeah I can't figure out" is saying how he knows he needs to go to Christ, but he can't bring himself to get there. It's basically like a call out to god, saying he knows with all the struggle he is going through there is only one way to make it through (with Christ) but he is worried it might not work out ("Will ya let me drown, will ya let me drown") in the verse he is saying that he will let god in because he needs him, he desires him. it is the turning point because he realizes he needs the lord and will let him. he is down on his knees letting god know he is willing to accept him and needs the love of Christ, something beautiful(God) to touch him; not physically but mentally. The next verse is that the challenges (water) is coming quickly and for so long he was afraid because was worried it would drown him but now he knows that god is with him and he tells god, he won't leave him no matter how long or hard the challenges are. ("We can't be sure when it will subside
   So I won't leave your side, no I can't leave your side"). In the bridge he is saying before he found god he was searching for something to help him get through the struggle but now he has awoken and is now yearning for more of god, wanting to learn about him all the time.

   He's overwhelmed by the love for this one girl. He doesn't know if she will be there for him as he would for her. He wants to be loved and love something. He's been with her for a long time and he's just scared of breaking up( we can't be sure when it will subside) He wants someone to take the chance.
