Dear Old Nicki Lyrics
'cuz everybody ask me
where you at
I try to channel you in hopes that
I could steal you back
but it's like every intersection
we just missed each other
you got your fans waitin'
tell me you ain't six feet under

I think she is trying to bring back her old self but its becoming increasingly difficult for her to tap her real self. She is kind of regretting becoming this person she dreamed of when she young.

She really misses her old self. In the song she is apologizing to her old self and she is really mad at herself for changing.

Nicki came a long way from an unkown underground rapper to a superstar. Now she looks back and sees that she changed alot on the way to the top. The song is somewhat of an apology to her "old Nicki" (She feels sorry for herself) for just dumping her to get the big money.

She doesn't like the person that she's become and she wished she hadn't sold herself to the entertainment industry, she knows she can do better things for herself but she just doesn't want to or just doesn't know how to so she's searching for an answer.

The rapper she used to be is fading away and she misses her old self. This industry is changing her into something she is not and all she wants is the real, hardcore, underground Nicki back.
