Nirvana: Francis Farmer will have Her Revenge on Seattle Meaning
Francis Farmer will have Her Revenge on Seattle Lyrics
It´s so relaxing to hear that you´re asking wherever you get your way
It´s so soothing to know that you´ll sue me, this is starting to sound the same
I miss the comfort in...
This song is about Kurt's disenchantment with the general phony atmosphere of the entertainment industry. In the song, he bitterly notes how everyone connected to the industry is out for all they can steal from those who should be the entertainment industry's driving force...the artists and the innovators. Kurt then satisfies himself by indulging in a fantasy where one of the industry's most pronounced casualties, Francis Farmer, rises from the ash and takes her revenge on them all.
This song is about Francis Farmer. She was a real hard actress in the 30s and 40s. She was arrested for being drunk and basically doing "un lady like" things.
Her mom put her in a mental hospital were she was raped, beaten and tortured, not to mention labotomized.

It's so relieving to know that you're leaving as soon as you get paid
It's so relaxing to hear you're asking wherever you get your way
It's so soothing to know that you'll sue me, this is starting to sound the same
I miss the comfort in being sad
In her false witness, we hope you're still with us,
To see if they float or drown
Our favorite patient,
A display of patience, disease-covered Puget Sound
She'll come back as fire, to burn all the liars,
And leave a blanket of ash on the ground
I miss the comfort in being sad
Sounds like the writer is talking about a long planned out Zionist False Flag attack on Seattle Washington. Maybe Nuclear. Looks to be a fine bit of Predictive Programing. Lots of Video games and music around about nuking Seattle for years.

The song is about a acrtress named Francis Farmer from Tacoma, who was committed to Western State Hospital, I think it was called Ward Hill back then. She almost was labotimised, but it never really happened and she got out of the hospital and treid to regain her life as an actor.

This song is indeed about actress frances farmer. Kurt was a bit obsessed with her, probably because she possesed characteristics he envied such as her "I don't care" attitude toward everything as well as her ability to crawl out of every difficult situation she was confronted with. frances also refused to conform to hollywood's expectations, she didn't care what she wore, she wouldn't date movie stars, she rebelled against studio control and media...she was a lot like kurt. Frances had a life long problem with alcohol. She was arrested for driving with her headlights on bright in a war time black out zone and was suspected to be drunk, jailed overnight, released on fines she refused to pay and was rearrested on a bench warrant for failure to pay fines and assault on a studio hairdresser...she was very violent when arrested and was apparantly subdued and carried away by police yelling "have you ever had a broken heart". Through efforts of her mother and sister in law she was transfered from jail to a psych hospital...diagnosed with manic depressive psychosis and paranoid schizophrenia...she recieve ect (electro convulsive therapy) where the brain is shocked to produce a mild seizure which is believed to cure depression. once released she moved back in with her parents and within 6 months had physically attacked her mother who had her reinstitutionalized where she again recieved ect and was deemed cured. frances was NEVER lobotomized, though the hospital did request permission from her parents to perform one. farmer was institutionalized one further time before she died in 1970. She became a vagrant of sorts and had many failed attempts at radio and tv hosting. So as you can see frances endured many difficulties in which others were in control of her life and well being. It is said that she never actually possesed a true mental illness, but was just an out spoken free spirit, and in her time that was no accepted from a woman of sound mind. Kurt wrote about her trials and tribulations in this song and basically about karma, how her revenge will eventually come and is well deserved for all that was done to her. Kurt was so obsessed with her story he named his daughter frances after her. at Kurt and courtneys wedding, Courtney also wore a white dress that formerly belonged to frances farmer.

It's so relieving to know that you're leaving as soon as you get paid=
She was horrible to be around with on the movie sets, so this is a reference to how much she was disliked. As soon as she got paid, she would leave. (which is releiving because they didn't like her)
It's so relaxing to hear that you're asking wherever you get your way= She was spoiled and uncooperative, when she was arrested sh claimed that her rights had been violated. (she was arrested for DUI and dint pay the fine so she was taken by force from a hotel straight to jail)
It's so soothing to know that you'll sue me, this is starting to sound the same= As I said, she claimed her rights were violated and she made a big stink about it, she even threw things at the judge. She was threatening to sue over and over
I miss the comfort in being sad= she married and actor named Leif and he dumped her, and she used that as an excuse for her behavior for a long time.
In her false witness, we hope you're still with us, to see if they float or drown= this is referring to the witch trials. If you were suspected of being a witch they would tie you to a weight and throw you in a lake and if you floated you were a witch. This is a metaphor for how she was treated so unfairly in the court system. (she ended up in a mental hospital)
Our favorite patient, a display of patience, disease-covered Puget sound= this is a completely sarcastic line, she was a atrocious patient in the mental ward. She was violent and she injured a lot of the caregivers. This thing with puget sound is kinda random, but its not diseased (which means it could be used as a continuation of the previous sarcasm) its just the bay in washington that seattle is on.
She'll come back as fire, to burn all the liars, and leave a blanket of ash on the ground= a double suggestion that mt saint helens punished these liars, because it blew up 10 years after she died and left a blanket of ashes. The main emphasis is on hell and revenge.
I miss the comfort in being sad= as the police dragged her away from a phone call, she cried "have you ever had a broken heart?"

well Frances Farmer was a bad gad compared to those times...in spite of being an actress she was very much vocal and didn't get along well with the movie tycoons....she acted according to her own will ...so much that people back then recognised her as a spoiled gal.......here comes the comparison with Kurt Cobain, who according to many was nothing but a spoilt kid. From this comparison the song emerges...and Kurt rightly says she was not mentally ill as people thought her to be...and .."she will come back as fire....burn all the liars .leave a blanket of ash in the ground"

Apparentley this song is about this badass chick called Francis Farmer who gets locked up in a mental home. I think its a fantasy about her being released. It sounds like she's back in business saying that she's going to sue him, then he goes starting to sound the same. Which is supposed to be good news. The chorus goes "I miss the comfort in being sad," because she's still locked up and can't get her revenge on Seattle.
Then it goes on about her being locked up, our favourite patient, a display of patience and something about a pungeant smell. "She'll come back as fire and burn all the liars leave a blanket of ash on the ground," and he misses the comfort in being sad!
