Can't Stop Lyrics

Can’t stop addicted to the shin dig
Cop top he says I’m gonna win big
Choose not a life of imitation
Distant cousin to the reservation
Defunkt the pistol that you pay for
This punk the feeling that you stay for
In time I want to be your...

I think anthony is kind of, in a way, talking to the fans?
    ''The world I love
    The tears I drop
    To be part of
    The wave can't stop
    -->Ever wonder if it's all for you<--''

Saying that, the music they make, the industry they're part of, the life they live, they arn't doing it just for themselves, but for 'You'..as in the fans.

Plus, I know the video has nothing really to do with it, but when anthony says the line ''ever wonder if it's all for you'' he grabs the camera and speaks directly to it,as if he is talking to you watching at home..he also at one stage, kisses the camera, by kissing his two fingers and pressing them up against the camera lens.

So I think that part of the song, is referring to the people who buy the music.

I think that all music can be interpreted however you want...but the literal meanings of the lines are right there... Yes he's Indian so he's a cousin to the reservation and such and the leading him to ozone probably refers to the Hep-C.

But take the song however you want to and learn from it.

You're all wrong! It's about when Anthony's best friend died and Anthony was to drugged up to go and see him.

I wanted to look at the particular aspect of "the wave". For more info about it check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Third_Wave, but summing it up, it was a teacher whos students couldn't understand how people in nazi germany came under the influence of hitler and followed him, believing him in everything. so the teacher did a secret experiment making an elite student group called "the third wave" and he made rules for the students, some a little absurd, and the students follwed him, so much that the experiment started tog et out of hand, he then revealed to them the meaning of all of this as a lesson to them all. The lyrics indicate how they "wonder what the wave meant" and no matter what, they would anything for "the wave" and they can't stop.

Ok, "10 more reasons why I need somebody new, just like you" may refer to 10 symptoms of a drug he wants to quit and needs to replace with an other. "the wave" might be the nazi experiment tried in California in the 80's or a revolutionary painting of a Japanese guy, either, "east side love is living on the west end" talks about contradiction and none sense in the world today, "Knock out but boy you better come to" refers to the comeback of some musicians to the band and how it kept them from falling into drugs again, over all its a mixture of topics abouts his life experience mistakes, success and their consequences, also encouraging people to transcend in life "Your image in the dictionary.

This life is more than ordinary "and expressing your beliefs "Go write your message on the pavement".

This song is about him trying to get a girl who is with someone else (10 more reasons why I need someone new, just like you). It also has to do with "going with the flow" IE: letting your life go were it will instead of trying to direct it or letting things fall into place on there own.

Ok, I KNOW this isn't the meaning of the song, but it's just something I noticed; Almost all of the lines sound like the could be referring to The Great Gatsby. For any of you who have read it, just listen to the song, then reevaluate it. It's crazy

I agree with everything said by anonymous 2007-05-12 18:34:21.

I'm just adding my interpretation of the line in the song "Come From Space To Teach You Of The Pleiades."

The Pleiades are a group of a stars that reside in the constellation "Taurus". They are located near Orion.

In Greek Mythology, The Pleiades were the Seven Daughters of Atlas and Pleione, Atlas being the Titan that Zeus Condemned to Forever Hold The Heavens And Earth On His Shoulders. The reason that the group of stars is so close to Orion is because of Greek Mythology. It States That The Hunter Orion Would Persue Not One, But All Seven Of These Sisters. That Is Why He Is So Close To Them In The Astrological Sky.

I See This line in the song using the Pleiades (Seven Sisters) to represent all of the female muses of his life. (Read Anthony Kiedis' Autobiography "Scar Tissue" for more information about the females of his life.) He is therefore using Orion to represent himself going after not one, but all of these different female muses of his.

So when he mentions the Pleiades, he is referring to all of the female muses who he met in his life that helped to lead him to his current life and life-style.

Once again, I could be wrong. Only Anthony Kiedis himself will truly know, until (if and when) he chooses to reveal this information. I personally think it's better if he keeps as much of it to himself, so RHCP fans can use their songs as Anthems to their own lives.

I honestly think its just like the music video. Just random lyrics that rhyme put to a kick ass beat.

This is probably my first serious interpretation. I think it's about everyone is saying. That you can't stop no matter what happens. Just to keep jumping back into life hoping for the best knowing something will try bringing down. Also not to hid yourself from others since they help in times too.

No in the beginning of scar tissue he injects ozone to stop his hepatitis from coming back, which he got from doing drugs (perhaps a dirty needle or something)

This song seems to be a documentary of the evolution of mankind. "Use two sticks to make it in the nature
    I'll get you into penetration
    The gender of a generation
The birth of every other nation
Worth your weight the gold of meditation
This chapter's going to be a close one "

talking of humanity being really primitie and then. "Kick start the golden generator
Sweet talk but don't intimidate her
Can't stop the gods from engineering
Feel no need for any interfering "

and wirth the chorus "Can't stop addicted to the shin dig
Cop top he says I'm gonna win big
Choose not a life of imitation
    Distant cousin to the reservation
Defunkt the pistol that you pay for
This punk the feeling that you stay for
In time I want to be your best friend
Eastside love is living on the westend
Knock out but boy you better come to
Don't die you know the truth is some do
Go write your message on the pavement
Burnin' so bright I wonder what the wave meant
White heat is screaming in the jungle
Complete the motion if you stumble
Go ask the dust for any answers
Come back strong with 50 belly dancers

    Chorus:
    The world I love
    The tears I drop
    To be part of
    The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
    The world I love
    The trains I hop
    To be part of
    The wave can't stop
Come and tell me when it's time to "
It shows that through it all, love and music never changes. No matter how much we get caught up in the wave of evolution, love and music will always be what it is today....nothing can ever change it.

Okay, it's talking about how the way of life just goes and people will do anything to be popular and cool. "sweet heart is bleeding in the snowcone" snow cone is referring to cocaine and the when you take to much you bleed out your nose. So this girl he likes is taking cocaine and she is bleeding in it. "so smart she's leading me to ozone" is saying that the ozone is just another way of saying high. So in other words...she is trying to get him high.

Ok the guy before saying that "so smart she's leading me to ozone" refers to sex is a crock of shit. Ozone is what he injects to stop his habbit from reforming.
