I could've been, I could've been there with you
Wonder why I even try girl
Cause there's just nothin, nothin I can do
Nowhere that I can go, no
Nothin that I can say girl, that's gonna take the pain away

Ok so I had a sub today in class, she said that when she was in the same high school with the dirty head band members, she rememberd hearing about a car wreck that happned when four girls were driving to the “boys” house before prom, 3 of the 4 girls got killed including his girlfriend so they wrote a song about her, and now my sub said that she has really gotten into their music.

Chelsea was written by Dustin Bushnell a.k.a. Duddy from the Dirty Heads about his girlfriend that passed away, she was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver.
This is not an interpretation, its a fact. I am a massive DH fan and this is hands down my favorite song bc my mom has passed on it reminds me of her,I've done the digging to figure this one out.

I think that it is about a girl who passed away and that he only can see in his dreams.
