no way... Mother is the best track on the album. It's quirky yes, but the most original and lasting tracks... waaaaaay better than every breath you take for instance... yuck!

While I agree with the anonymous person's entry, there is a little more to this song.
It is the only song on the Synchronicity album that Sting did NOT write. It was written by the guitarist.
Personally I think it is an aweful tune. Not for the lyrics, they are kind of funny. It's just a shitty tune. -
