    Despite what you may have read in a newspaper Teenage Kicks is not a song about masturbation. The writer of the song, John O'Neill, adamantly denies that this is the songs subject and equally denies that the lyrics were ever changed.

    This is quite widely known but this song is about masturbation. The original lyrics were " i wanna hold IT wanna hold IT tight get teenage kicks roght through the night". He likes the new girl in the neghbourhood but can't bring himself to do anything about it so he jacks his beanstalk while thinking about her instead.
