Not Enough Lyrics

To love somebody naturally
To love somebody faithfully
To love somebody equally
Is not enough
Is not enough
Is not enough
To love somebody secretly
And never touch
To love somebody honestly
And always trust
To love somebody...

I think it's speaking in terms that he wasn't enough for the one he loved given some of the lyrics.. Some people you can give all of yourself to and it's still " not enough " .. Love hurts sometimes , it's not easy to find , meaning being loved back the way you love or loved them .. If you're in the situation the song has that meaning to you .

So many things are needed besides love. Sammy's right, love isn't enough. There has to be more, like compromise, communication and commitment. We have to give 100% of ourselves to get 100% of another. It cannot be 50/50.
That's what I thought this song meant.

Sammy Hagar said this song is about love. (approximate quote): "Sometimes we want our women to prove to us how much they love us so we can love them back, but that's not really how it works man, you can only feel love when you give it"
