i think this song is about all the bad things (like manchester bombing) and leaving them behind. like, leaving all the negativity and sadness in the past. "the light is coming to give back everything the darkness stole"simply means that better days and times are coming. the whole song is healing and positive. she simply belives that she is finally ready to let go and be truly happy again.
