    I think its about forgiveness. The last to lines are very humbling.

    To me this song is about a group of people condemning/banishing/leaving behind someone from their group by consensus. Basically they all decide to let a dude go for their own personal gain which they now regret. That gain may be for their safety for which they were afraid of losing.
