This song is about a father and a son. The son hasn't seen his father due to a fight he had with him. The part where he says 'Well I know it's been years not and I don't look the same. And the hopes and dreams you had for me you thought went down the drain' is saying that his father wanted his son to be someone successful. This isn't about a guy and a girl. It's about the hard relationship of a father and a son.

It's about how when the Jeret was younger he didn't have a good relationship with his dad and now that he's and adult, he wants to make things better.
