I think that it's about a relationship that was compromised for a career...and I feel that she pulled away to make his dreams come true because she loves him. I feel that the two will always love and care about each...and they will always be there for each other no matter what they have to do. One way or another in life they will be together...and it may take years but they will be together. I think this song is talking about a guy that no matter what he will always love this girl. People on the outside looking in might think that the relationship is bad, but really they do not understan what they have been through to get where they are. No relatioship is perfect but as long as you love eachother truly then it will be worth it in the end.
